Salad with Vinaigrette Dressing

Salads are always a healthier option as compared to burgers and fries that we tend to eat at different cafes. Often it is said that if you are ordering burger then order the smaller size and better to substitute the French fries with a bowl of salad. The veggies and boiled chicken are good for health but the dressing that is used in the salad may affect your health as it may contain 200 calories and 20 grams of fat per serving which is not a very good choice. But if low fat Free dressing is added to the salad then the same salad will give you the much needed energy without adding fat to your body. One cannot expect a low fat dressing at a café but can surely enjoy it at home.

Making salad at home does not require major culinary skills as it is easy to make. Just blanch your favorite leafy vegetable or you can also have it raw as some veggies like lettuce and cabbage are eaten raw. Now add some cherry tomatoes, boiled baby potatoes, crunchy carrots, shalots and tofu. One can also add salmon or grilled chicken or boiled chicken to it. This salad is not ready yet as it still does not have the most important ingredient in it which is the salad oil or dressing.
